<p>During filling or emptying of a gas tank (1), there is a risk that the internal atmosphere may contain a combustible and/explosively dangerous mixt. of oxygen and a combustible substance. The method to eradicate this risk involves the determn. of the combinations of contents of oxygen, the combustible substance and inert gas. On variation of the oxygen content and/or that of the combustible substance in the internal tank atmosphere, inert gas is fed into the tank, causing the values of oxygen and combustible substance not to correspond to or exceed the levels at which combustion and/or explosion might occur.</p> |
