Method and arrangement for the treatment of carbonaceous fuel that is to be fed into a fluidised bed reactor in a gasification or combustion process in order to increase the net efficiency. The fuel is heated by means of material directly from the fluidised bed or by circulating material at 150 - 400 degrees C in a mixing chamber, so that adhesive surfaces are formed on the surface of the fuel particles.
