The invention relates to an apparatus for making possible a wavelength stabilization of an emitted light beam (2), generated by a semiconductor laser (1), modulated (3) by a signal, whereafter said beam (2) is sensed by a photo-receiver (4), by designing the electronics connected to the photo-receiver in such a way that a fix wavelength representing a selected atomic transition in the medium (M) where the light beam propagates is sensed. The operational parameters (temperature, current etc.) of the laser (1) are adjustable so that the laser emission (2) will have a wavelength corresponding to or primarily corresponding to one, determined, fix wavelength of a chosen atomic transition of the medium (M). A regulation circuitry (8) is designed to generate necessary signal parameters so that the wavelength of any emitted light beam (2), having a wavelength deviation from the fix wavelength determined by the atomic transition, will be regulated towards said fix wavelength and that a necessary wavelength region for a capturing range is chosen depending on the chosen fix wavelength.
|
