It includes a horizontal article-holder table (12), a vertical shaft (14) integral with the said table (12), members (18, 20, 22) for indexing the article (10) about the axis (27) of the shaft (14), a beam (24) sliding horizontally at the top of the shaft, at a predetermined angle (a) with respect to the said shaft (14), a support clamp (34) mounted on the said beam (24) in rotation about a vertical axis and carrying a horizontal tilting pin (BB), about which a tilting arm (42) pivots, this arm being suspended under the support clamp (34), a curved feeler arm (44) pivotally mounted about a horizontal axis (CC) at the end of the tilting arm (42) and devices (30, 38, 50) for measuring the sliding of the beam (24), the rotation of the support clamp (34) and the rotation of the feeler arm (44). <IMAGE>
