PURPOSE:To lighten the fatigue of an engagement part between a holding member for holding an air bag, etc., and a module cover installed on the holding member and improve the durability of the cover by keep a play part in which the cover advances and retreats by a prescribed width for the car room direction, on the engagement part. CONSTITUTION:As for an air bag device 10, a module cover 14 is installed on the front surface of a container 12 which constitutes a holding member, and an inflator 16 and an air bag 18 in folded state are accommodated in a container 12. In this case, an elliptical hole 32 which extends in the opening direction (room inside direction) of the cover 14 is drilled on the lower side flange 4c on the module cover 14. Further, a slit 34 is formed so as to connected one edge of the elliptical hole 32 and the edge part of the lower side flange 14c. Then, the container 12 and the lower side flange 14c are engaged, keeping a certain play, by driving a rivet 38 through the elliptical hole 32 and an opened port drilled on the opposed surface part of the container 12. Accordingly, the stress concentration to the breakage staring edge line (not shown on the figure) part formed on the cover 14 is lightened. |
