METHOD OF DETECTING BOUNDARY OF PACKET IN DIGITAL DATA FLOW AND APPARATUS FOR FINDING OUT FLAG DELIMITING DATA IN DIGITAL DATA FLOW

PURPOSE: To relatively quickly discriminate as delimiter flag of a data packet in a serial data flow by using parallel processing technique employing a state machine which evaluates plural bits in parallel. CONSTITUTION: When data is inputted to a time division multiplexer 101 through a series of data communication channels, one data channel is selected by a time division multiplexer 100 only for a prescribed time and is sent to a flag detector 102. The detector 102 evaluates the data flow to discriminate whether or not there is a bit pattern corresponding to the flag. Non-detection of the next flag after the detection of a first non-flag set pattern indicates a reception of a complete data packet to determine the boundary of the packet. Data from the detector 102 is sent to a processing element 104 and is decoded. Further, this data is added to a storage element 103.
