摘要 NEW MATERIAL:An infrared absorbing compound expressed by formula I or II (R1 to R8 are H, halogen or monovalent organic residue; R1 to R8 may be same or different; 5-, 6- or 7-membered ring may be formed by combination of R1 and R2, R3 and R4, R5 and R6 or R7 and R8; A is formula III or IV; B is formula V or VI; the aromatic ring may be substituted with lower alkyl, lower alkoxy, halogen or hydroxyl group; X<-> is anion). USE:Useful as a component of optical recording media, especially providing the optical recording media having organic coloring matter thin films improved in durability and light fastness in repeated reproduction in optical disks or cards. The compound has a large absorption region in the infrared part and is improved in solubility by disturbing the linearity thereof. PREPARATION:An amino derivative obtained by the Ullmann reaction and reductive reaction as shown in the reaction formulas is selectively substituted and then subjected to oxidative reaction to afford the compound expressed by formula I.
