Screen-printable acrylate pressure-sensitive adhesive composition suitable for adhesive products having simultaneously, and independently from temperature, high values of adhesion, peel strength and shear strength as well as a high water and humidity resistance, comprising (A) about 25 to 225 parts by weight of at least one dissolved inherently tacky pressure-sensitive adhesive selected from non-crosslinked (meth)acrylic ester/(meth)acrylic acid copolymers having an average molecular weight corresponding to an inherent viscosity of not more than 1.0 dl/g; and (B) 100 parts by weight of an organic solvent or solvent mixture having a low partial vapour pressure of less than about 3kPa (3? mbar) at 20.degree.C and a dipole moment of at least 1.0 Debye. The acrylate copolymer preferably has structural units of the formula wherein R1 and R2 independently are hydrogen or lower alkyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms; R3 is hydrogen, a lower alkyl group having 1 to 4 carbon atoms and a cyano group; and R4 is hydrogen or an alkyl group having 1 to 14 carbon atoms, n is the average degree of polymerization, subject to R4 being a hydrogen atom in at least 5 weight % of the total monomer units, one of groups R1 and R2 optionally being carboxyl of the formula -C(=O)-OR4 and R3 optionally being a methylene carboxyl group having the formula -CH2-C(=O)-OR4. |
