During winding, the medium yarn winding velocity is kept constant from a tube to a fully wound bobbin, using a divided roller with one directly driven ring and freely rotatable rings. (12). The cone circumferential speed is modified by displacing its pure rolling point along the extent of the driven ring by changing the angular velocity of one of the lateral rings of the roller. The displacement depends on the yarn traction force in the winding zone and/or the winding acting through linked regulation systems.
