<p>PURPOSE:To improve reliability of a device by immediately interrupting the steering auxiliary action of a motor when the torque sensor abnormality is detected, and then the steering auxiliary action is returned when torque sensor output becomes normal and steering auxiliary force is small. CONSTITUTION:In a device in which a motor 8 for generating steering auxiliary force is drive-controlled with a drive signal determined with a control part 7 based on the output signal of a torque sensor 6 and a vehicle speed detector 18, a motor control circuit 71, increasing indicator current corresponding to torque increase when torque exists out of the dead zone of a given range, is provided in the control part 7. In this case, a fail-safe circuit 72, outputting a breaking signal to a motor drive circuit 73 at the time of abnormal judgment of the torque sensor 6, is provided in the control part 7. The fail-safe circuit 72 is composed so that a steering auxiliary action with the motor 8 can be returned when the torque sensor 6 returns normal after the breaking signal is outputted and the output of the torque sensor 6 and the vehicle speed detector 18 becomes within a given range.</p> |
