Amphibious all-terrain vehicle mounted on low-pressure tyres and tracks, with a train transmission (drive), of the type including a body carrying, on each longitudinal side, a row of at least three non-guiding driving wheels, the wheels of one same row being mechanically connected to the others in terms of rotation by a chain transmission housed in a longitudinal leaktight casing, the transmission between the motorised propulsion unit and the median driving wheels (4) is a chain type transmission, including two step-down stages (9, 10), the said transmission being housed in part in a vertical extension (11) of the longitudinal transmission casing (8), the casing and its extension being housed within the width (13) of the track (6) such that the straight line (2) defined in a vertical plane, passing through the inner lower corner (22) of the casing and the inner lower edge (23) of the track forms an angle (15) of at least 60 DEG with the horizontal. <IMAGE>
