The pedal (1) is coupled by a lever (2) and cable (3) to the actuator (4) of a set-point wiper (7) on the track of a potentiometer (8) supplied with current by an electronic control unit (22). An actual-value wiper (12) on the same track follows movement of the throttle valve controller (11) by an electric motor (9) operated in conjunction with a clutch (10). Between the actuator (4) and the controller (11), a sepn. monitor (15) is constituted by an arrangement of sprung and unsprung contact plates (47,46) in a switch (42) opened by a plunger (44). Deviation signals are applied to the control unit (2) for plausibility checking.
