The warning device uses a pressure monitor (7) incorporated in the wheel rim for communication with the interior of the inflated tyre (4), used to adjust the position of a setting element (13) rotating with the wheel and a cooperating sensor (14) supplying a signal repesenting the position of the setting element to a evaluation and/or display device. The pressure monitor (7) uses a pin (8) displaced in dependence on the tyre pressure coupled via a flexible transmission rod (11) to the rotary setting element (13). Pref. the pin (8) is displaced in dependence on the tyre pressure against a return spring bias.
