PURPOSE:To always execute stable gaseous carbonic acid laser beam machining by providing a beam sensing device for detecting automatically a beam position, a mode and a beam diameter of a laser beam and inputting their signals to a beam monitoring device. CONSTITUTION:A laser beam machining head 5 is moved to a prescribed working position, and in accordance with a working sequence program corresponding to an object to be worked, regular working is executed. Also, in the interval of regular working, the laser beam machining head 5 is moved to a position in which beam sensing devices 7A, 7B are attached. In such a state, the laser beam information of a laser beam position, the diameter, a beam mode, etc., is sampled, compared with the laser beam information stored in the beam monitoring device 8A, and the deviation of both of them is calculated. As the result of comparison, when the sampled laser beam information is within a prescribed allowable value, the next working is executed. When the information exceeds the allowable value, the next working is executed after correcting a laser beam so as to become a prescribed allowable value by the instruction of the beam monitoring devices 8A, 8B. |
