The hinge is for a butt-jointed window or door, having top and bottom halves joined by a hinge pin. Each half has a mounting flange (4), to which one or more bolts (8), slotted in the lengthwise direction, are solidly fixed. Drillings (14) in the flange connect to the slots (11), in the bolts, which have external teeth or screwthreads. An expander pin (24) is inserted through each drilling into the slot, so as to spread the toothed portions of the bolt apart in a taper bore in the frame. ADVANTAGE - Low cost and ease of installation.
