<p>The head comprises a slider (14a), having an air bearing surface, made of a non-magnetic substance, a magnetic head core (1a) which is formed of a pair of magnetic cores having a magnetic gap, or a pair of magnetic cores having a magnetic gap on a butting surface of which is formed a magnetic metallic thin film, and is fixed by bonding glass (13) to a groove (15) provided in a flow-out end of the air bearing of the slider (14a), excitation coils wound in a window section of the head core (1a), and a front gap surface side of the magnetic head core being placed on the side opposite to the magnetic recording medium. There is substantially no step difference between a rear surface of the magnetic head core (1a) on a back gap surface thereof and a surface at least in the vicinity of a periphery of a groove (15) on a rear surface of the slider (14a) to which the magnetic head core (1a) is fixed. <IMAGE></p> |
