Method and machine 1 for binding books 7 by sewing, in accordance with which sheets 3 are fed successively to a stack 2 and are attached to the previous sheets 3 by means of at least one continuous set of stitches 5 with yarn 6 defined by a succession of bound fascicules 10 having edges which each have a stitch 11 and a loop 12 produced by a needle 19 and a crochet 22 respectively. For each predetermined number of fascicules 10 a seizing device 30 associated with crochet 22 is activated to initially hook the base of a first loop 12 engaged by crochet 22 and secondly to unthread the yarn 6 from the first loop 12 from a second preceding loop 12 thus undoing the first loop 12 once yarn 6 has been cut by a knife 31 upstream of first loop 12. <IMAGE> |
