Ultrasonic measurement system for welded joints - uses two channels to differentiate fully automatically between real defects and those arising from reflections

The ultrasonic measurement system contains two ultrasonic test heads (2, 3), each with a signal processing and display device (6, 7), i.e. it is a two channel system. The heads are mechanically connected so that their separation distance is an integral step length. The two ultrasonic channels are combined via an evaluation unit (10) so that only indications arising simultaneously in both channels are evaluated or displayed. USE/ADVANTAGE - Enables fully automatic differentiation between real defects and those arising from reflections.
