An inspection unit (2) is moved along inside the sewage pipes (9) and is connected to a control and evaluation unit (1) at least partially without wires using antennas (4a, 4b). Data are transferred to and from the inspection unit in the sewage system via a shaft transmitter (3) which forms the link to the control and evaluation unit via antennaes.
