PURPOSE:To offer the switch which switches plural optical fibers in batch units by rotating the terminal surfaces of the optical fibers and the terminal surfaces of optical paths relatively on their circular tracks and switching the optical paths. CONSTITUTION:An optical path switching part 30 has coaxial and mutually adjacent cylinders 31 and 32. Terminal parts 20-23 of respective cables 10-13 are inserted at positions determined by dividing the outside cylinder 31 equally into four in the circumferential direction and the respective terminal surfaces are exposed in the internal surface. Terminal parts 50-57 are inserted at positions determined by dividing the inside cylinder 32 equally into eight in the circumferential direction and the terminal surfaces of the respective terminal parts 50-57 can face the terminal surfaces of the respective terminal parts 20-23 of the optical cables 10-13. In the state shown in a figure, the inside cylinder 32 is rotated anticlockwise by 45 deg. through, for example, a driving part to couple the optical cable 10 with the optical cable 13 through an optical path 43 and the optical cable 11 with the optical cable 12 through an optical path 42. Thus, optional two of the four optical cables can be coupled with each other and the switching in optical cable units becomes possible. |
