Metal forming presses which carry out operations such as deep drawing, bending and stamping, are equipped with spring elements which use cylinders filled with high pressure nitrogen. The high pressure nitrogen is usually stored in a welded steel tank. A seamless steel bottle (1) is used as a reservoir for the high pressure nitrogen. The steel bottle is sealed by means of a screw cap (3) with an attached flange (2). The flange has rows of tapped holes (5) on its outer face for pipe connections. These tapped holes are connected by internal passageways to the interior of the bottle. USE/ADVANTAGE - Storage of high pressure nitrogen in a seamless steel bottle which is cheaper to produce than the welded steel bottle usually used.
