A bottom run-off valve for a vessel (10), particularly of glass construction, having a nozzle (13), a side arm (15), a screw handle (19) engaging with a threaded portion (18), connected through the nozzle (13) with a valve member (25) which is sealable against a seat (12) in the vessel floor, and a shaft sealing arrangement (26) which is radially expandable and located below the side arm (15) in the annular gap between the valve member and the nozzle, and being novel in possessing a spring (44) arranged to axially bias the valve member on to the valve seat. USE/ADVANTAGE - Flush mounting outlet valve for a glass vessel with sealing performance which is unaffected by temperature fluctuations. ( 1/1)
