<p>A solenoid coil assembly (12) for a solenoid valve includes an electrical coil (64) wound about a valve armature (42) to develop a magnetic field for actuating the armature responsive to an electrical current passing through the coil. A case (68) surrounds the coil. The case has opposite end walls (70,72) and a top wall (74), a bottom wall (76) and opposite side walls (78,80) connected between the end walls. A pair of electrical connectors (66) are connected to opposite ends of the coil and extend outwardly from the top wall. A metal yoke (54) has opposite end walls (94,96) connected by a top wall (98) and a bottom wall (100).
