Arrangement for jets in smoke cleaning plant - increasing reaction vol with gases entering elbow joint with jet on longitudinal axis

Gases collected in a pipe are sprayed with fluids to neutralise waste prods. and remove particles. Gases are passed through an elbow joint in which are installed jet(s), on or near to the longitudinal axis; only one jet is arrranged pointing directly along the longitudinal axis. Pref. arrangement comprises smoke gases (1) entering the elbow pipe (2) in which is installed one jet (9) directed along the longutudinal axis of the concentric reaction vessel (3). Additional jets (6,7) are at the junction of the elbow pipe and reactor vessel. USE/ADVANTAGE - Limits the size of the dry-wet zone in which corrosion tends to occur.
