Bicycle dynamo driven by wheel rotation - has double number of alternating polarity energising teeth than number of armature teeth

The bicycle dynamo has an armature (1) attached directly to the wheel axis (2) and an energising system (3) forming a ferromagnetic circuit, attached to the wheel hub (4). The armature has a number of teeth, the energising system similarly fitted with energising teeth (8) of alternating polarity, spaced by half the spacing between the armature teeth. Pref. the energising system uses bar magnets of alternating polarity and cooperating magnetic flux conductors acting as the energising teeth. ADVANTAGE - Compact design directly driven by the wheel and min. force exertion.
