The atmos. gas burner has a tube with top outlets in slotted, or perforated strip surmounted by stacked NOx reducing flame inserts as heat radiating, surface bars or strips, parallel to the tube and symmetrical to a plane led vertically through the tube axis. Primary and secondary flame zones are thus formed in the strip region. The width of the slotted etc. strip (21) of the tube (2) is 15-30% of the tube dia. and the flame inserts (1), viewed in a section at right angles to the tube axis, are arranged in a bell curve in three planes over the tube such that the inserts nearest the tube lie outside the primary flame zone (I), with the remainder inside the secondary zone (II). USE/ADVANTAGE - For gas burners, with reduced pollutant emission, esp. in starting operation.
