<p>PURPOSE:To provide a tape recording and reproducing device and a cassette to run well plural tapes with different widths. CONSTITUTION:By pressurizing well a cassette with a cassette positioning spring 1 even when the thickness of the cassette is different, the cassette is fixed to a prescribed position so that the lower ends of respective tapes 3a, 3b are the same in height. By moving vertically the flange 9 of a guiding post 12 in accordance with a tape width signal with a cassette detecting switch 13 or a staring end detector 14a, a finishing end detector 14b, even the tape 3a with a narrow width is controlled so as to run in a prescribed height,.Further, by changing the inclination angle or the inclination direction of a movable inclination post 10, the energizing force to face downward is imparted to the tape at the time of the tape 3a with the narrow width. Further, a head to be used is selected in accordance with the tape width detected by the cassette detecting switch 13 or the staring end and the finishing end detectors 14a, 14b.</p> |
