PURPOSE:To obtain an electronic appliance in which safety is ensured wherein the operating time of the electronic appliance or a load in the appliance is measured and compared with a set value and when the measured value exceeds the set value, operation of the appliance is prohibited. CONSTITUTION:When a power switch 2 is turned ON, a control section 6 performs key input processing from an operating section 9 and copy operation control and compares the count of a counter with a set value. The processing is carried out with an interval of 0.1 sec. After addition of a power supply ON counter, a decision is made whether copy operation is proceeding and a copy operation counter is added followed by addition of a heater operation counter and a motor ON counter. If at least one of power ON interval, copying time, conducting time of a heater 3 or the conducting time of a motor 6 exceeds a predetermined time, the power switch 2 is opened to interrupt power supply. Consequently, safety is enhanced. |
