PURPOSE:To realize an automatic operation of an air cleaner which affords a more realistic fresh air effect to the user by controlling the revolution number of an electric motor according to the difference in detecting time between an ultraviolet ray detecting part and a gas detecting part. CONSTITUTION:An air cleaner comprises a driving part 3 for driving an electric motor 2, an ultraviolet ray detecting part 4 for detecting ultraviolet rays, a gas detecting part 6 for detecting the gas in the periphery of an air cleaner body 1, a comparative part 10 for comparing an output from the gas detecting part 6 with an appropriate reference value, a counter part 11 for starting its counting by an output pulse signal from the ultraviolet ray detecting part 4 and stopping it by an output pulse signal from the comparative part 10 and a control part 12 for controlling the revolution number of the electric motor 2 by an output from the counter part 11, whereby the revolution number of the electric motor 2 is controlled according to the difference in detecting time between the ultraviolet ray detecting part 4 and the gas detecting part 6. |
