Non-destructive measurement of material properties to detect ageing effects - passing continuous wave ultrasound repeatedly through object and comparing received and transmitted waves
摘要
The non-destructive method involves passing continuous ultrasonic waves through the object repeatedly in a selected frequency band. The ultrasonic waves are then received and compared with the transmitted waves to determine at least one characteristic deviation. The continuous wave signal lies in the frequency band in the lower ultrasonic frequency range, pref. between 50 KHz and 2MHz. The amplitude or phase difference between the transmitted and received ultrasound can be evaluated. USE/ADVANTAGE - Enables non-destructive material state monitoring with generation of parameters typical of ageing without generating impressions of material surface.
