The load cell (1) comprises a flexion bar (4) combined with a secondary blade (13) joining a mobile upright (6) to a fixed upright (9). A plate (2) is solidly attached to the mobile upright (6), while a base (3) is solidly attached to the fixed upright (9). Strain gauges are distributed on the surface of the flexion bar (4), and connected up in a Wheatstone bridge for measuring the load. The gauges are pivoted with respect to the longitudinal axis of the flexion bar (4), and elastic means (30, 33) produce, on a secondary blade (13), an axial torsion couple which can be adjusted to make the measurement signal independent of the transverse eccentricity of the force. <IMAGE>
