The power level of a microwave oven can be adjusted white a microwave oven is under an operating state and the adjusted power level is displayed for a certain time. The method comprises the steps: (A) checking key input during operation mode, (B) stopping the cooking mode, displaying the remaining time on a display, resetting output ports and executing next routine when pause key is input; (C) clearing memory except clock generator and displaying input time data when clear key is input; (D) blinking power level bar, displaying PL-O on a display and storing adjusted power level on a memory when power level key is input; and (E) displaying the adjusted power level on a display and driving a magnetron according to the adjusted power level.
