A method of and an article for containing chips from an amorphous metal core used in a shell-type or core type transformer are disclosed. An elongated rectangular strip of paper or polymeric material having a pressure-sensitive adhesive on one surface thereof is applied to the yoke faces of the amorphous metal core after annealing and lacing the coils on the core.
