A device 10 for nebulising a liquid comprises a reservoir of liquid 16 connected to an outlet 19, and a drive circuit 17 electrically connected to a piezoelectric actuator 18 and a battery 15. The drive circuit 17 actuates to vibrate the piezoelectric actuator 18 so that it nebulises the liquid in the reservoir, which passes through the outlet as an aerosol 28. The device is supplied as a disposable, modular assembly, where the reservoir of liquid and battery are located in a cartridge which is detachable from a base unit comprising the drive circuit. The piezoelectric element may be part of the base unit or provided in the reservoir. |
