Additional information inserted in the information to be transmitted which is divided into frames of equal length, each of which is divided into smaller units (51...56), e.g. packets, cells or time slots. The latter are successively distributed among at least two parallel transmission lines (U2, U3) exhibiting the same physical characteristics and are re-assembled in the original sequence at the reception end without the additional information. Pref. waiting cycles are inserted between the information units (51, 55; 52..54) fed along each parallel transmission line (U2, U3). ADVANTAGES - Increased clock rate with standard interfaces.
