An improved reference-aid apparatus/article for paginated and non-paginated publications and variated methods of manufacture thereof. The reference-aid (10) apparatus comprising at least one of an index marker, game marker, coupon marker and combinations thereof being formed from at least one substrate means being multi-faced in which such substrate means is optionally adapted to accept/ receive information means on at least one face thereof and/or impregnated therein. The at least one substrate means comprising at least one marker member (18) and at least one removably protective substrate means (21) being releasable therefrom. Each marker member/apparatus member (11,18) comprising at least one attaching means area with at least one adhesive layer means (22A,22B) attached/applied thereto and covered by at least one removably protective cover substrate means (21) being optionally free from intentional treatment of release coating means/impregnated adhesive repellant substance means to necessitate removability therefrom. At least one optional support/carrier liner means (22C) may be sandwiched therebetween at least two adhesive layers being at least one of flexible, semi-flexible, semi-rigid and rigid. Each marker/apparatus face (19,20) having at least one adhesive layer means being adheringly releasably engaged to such at least one removably protective substrate means being in generally face-to-face temporary contact relationship to each other permitting release and at least one mounting of such at least one marker/apparatus to at least one border margin and/or to at least one surface of at least one publication vessel means. In other variated, embodiments, a document and/or publication cover substrate means represented as a pocket portfolio, book cover over-wrap, book/magazine cover and others cited may all feasibly incorporate the separably removable reference-aid therewith.
