<p>Pipeline pig (10) with an elongate pig body (11), preferably of solid elastomeric material, in which, on both sides of a section (14) of relatively small diameter, there is in each case at least one annular sealing face, the spacing of which is equal to or less than the inside diameter of the pipeline. Provided on both sides of the section (14) of relatively small diameter is at least one annular, rib-like radial lip, the height of which is from one tenth to at most one fifth of the radius of the pig body (11) in the region of the sealing lip, the spacing of the pig body from the pipeline wall in the region of the sealing lip corresponding approximately to 0.5 to 0.75 times the height of the lip and the sealing lip being so shaped and dimensioned that, upon engagement with the pipe wall (32), it is bent over in such a way that the facing edge and the side face of the sealing lip enter into engagement with the pipe wall but still exhibit a spacing from the pig body. <IMAGE></p> |
