The roof has two laterally outlying frame members (18). In the closed position the members extend from the windscreen surround (7) to the boot (13). Each member consists of four segments which are driven together by a spring on the floor of a stowage compartment (23). Behind each side door a pillar (15) for supporting the roof can be raised and lowered by an electric motor. The roof panel is unrolled when the frame members are locked in position. USE/ADVANTAGE - A simple construction can be mfd. at favourable cost and requires little stowage space in the boot.
