A tyre, and particularly one for a powered vehicle, has an out tread and inner face, a sidewall with carcass, and a radially internal bead. The tyre is made up of two pain parts which can be bonded together beforehand; both parts have one smooth and one profiled face when they are laid flat; the parts are pref. joined together as mirror images; the single tyre carcass lies between the two smooth faces. The example shown is made up of two halves which are virtually equal, so that both the outer and inner faces (1) can be used as treads. Thus each part has a tread portion along its centre. The two parts are joined together, with the beads at the ends. Their smooth sides face each other, and they can be produced singly or already joined together. Another option is to have one part with a summer tread and the other a winter counterpart. ADVANTAGE - The tyre has a long service life. Its cost is resonable. It meets safety requirements. When the tread has worn out smooth the complete tyre can be turned inside out and used again until its second tread has gone.
