The device comprises clock generator (1) for generating clock signal, a binary counter (3) for outputting binary count signal which is connected with a dip switch part (2) for setting the number of cables to test, a multiplexor (4) for multiplexing the signal from the binary counter, a comparator (5) which compares signal from the multiplexor with the signal coming via cable (7) to test from multiplexor (4) and connects its signal with binary counter (3) by feedback, a display part (6) for operating according to signal supplied from the comparator (5) and the clock generator (1), and a hold lamp (8) connected to the comparer (5).
