Method and system for drying wood

A method for drying wood comprises the following steps: 1 introducing wood which is to be dried into a drying chamber; 2 introducing air which has been heated to a selected temperature into this chamber; 3 ventilating the chamber with a selected flow rate; 4 measuring the moisture content of the wood at least at one location by means of a measurement sensor; and 5 using the measurement results obtained during step 4 to successively adjust the temperature at step 2 and/or the flow rate at step 3.
