An attachment component for installing a light fitting comprises a ring, which ring has an edge which is provided with one or more saw teeth, in order, using the ring which thus fulfils a dual function, to process a sheet-like material which is easy to saw in such a manner that a hole is made in the sheet-like body with the aid of the ring provided with saw teeth. The edge of the ring may also partially be designed as a cutting edge, and the ring will generally be provided with handles, in order to make it as easy as possible to saw and cut the generally soft material of the sheet-like body. The handles ensure that, by bearing flat against the surface of the sheet- like body, after the ring has been positioned, forces exerted on the ring are distributed round the hole, so that there is no local breaking or crumbling of the material around the hole. |
