The system includes a fluid source (15), a discharge circuit (20) and a hydraulic servomotor (90) which includes the movable element (3) connected to the coupling (E). The servomotor (90) is fed with fluid by a supply circuit (18) and can be selectively connected to the fluid source (15) or to the discharge circuit. The supply circuit (18) is arranged to have at least two possible flow sections, and a device for selecting a flow rate from the supply circuit. The supply circuit has at least two supply paths in parallel, with a selection device which selects a particular path by closing off one of the paths. The selection device operates in response to a signal indicating a vehicle parameter. USE/ADVANTAGE - Can be adapted for slow and fast vehicle speeds.
