The locking member (14) with a threaded shaft is screwed into a threaded hole (18) in one (12) of the components and passes through a smooth hole (20) in the other component (10). A radially-expansible member (26) is located between the shaft and the walls of the smooth hole. The radially-expansible member is formed by a cylindrical ring with longitudinal wall slots (42), which cooperate with a wedge member (50) engaged between the slot edges. Axial compression of the assembly, by screwing rotation of the locking member, forces the wedge against the slot edges to expand the ring in a radial direction.
