PURPOSE:To obtain a pH detecting element which can check the ovulating date of a woman by measuring the female hormone contained in the urine of the woman. CONSTITUTION:A working electrode 1 on an insulating substrate 3 is composed of a semiconductor 4, gate oxide film 5, insulating film 6, lower-layer enzyme- immobilized film 7, and upper-layer enzyme-immobilized layer 8. A reference electrode 2 has the same constitution as the electrode 1 has except an inactive enzyme film 9 which is formed in place of the films 7 and 8. The semiconductor 4 is composed of two n-type areas and one p-type area. One of the n-type areas is used as a source electrode and the other as a drain electrode. In addition, a metallic reference electrode is formed on the lower surface of the substrate 3. In the film 7, an oxidizing and decomposing enzyme and NADP or NADPH are immobilized and, in the film 8, beta-D-glucuronidase is immobilized. |
