PURPOSE:To rewrite a record having a reading error and to remove a temporary reading error. CONSTITUTION:An I/O controller 2 for a magnetic disk storage device 4 is provided with a RAM 23 and a microprocessor 21 for copying the contents of a record for making access and constitutedso as to rewrite a record generating a reading error in a magnetic disk storing medium included in the device 4. A communication means is added between plural I/O controllers and the contents of a rewritten record are saved in the opposite I/O controller, so that even when data are lost due to the generation of a failure during the period of rewriting, the data can be restored based upon the contents of the saved record. |
