The invention relates to a single-cap electrical lamp, preferably a high-pressure discharge lamp, for use in a motor vehicle headlight, and to a method for producing such a lamp. In order to ensure a positively locking, vibration-proof firm seat of the lamp bulb (1) in the retaining part (2) of the cap, a means (7), which can be used for high-frequency-induced heating, is arranged in the retaining part (2) in the region of the tubular extension (6) of the lamp bulb (1). A high-frequency pulse is induced in said means with the aid of an external device, so that the plastic mass (17) of the retaining part (2) melts in the region of the extension (6) of the lamp bulb (1).
