The invention relates to a method for cleaning smooth surfaces such as plastic, glass and coated or uncoated metal surfaces. According to the invention, this is achieved by firstly blending air and detergent homogeneously in a dispenser, after which the homogeneous mixture obtained is combined, in a spraying device, with water. The aqueous mixture thus produced is sprayed under pressure in turbulent motion over the surfaces to be cleaned with the aid of the spraying device, after which the surfaces thus treated are rinsed with water. In so doing, a customary detergent is used in an amount of 10- 25 wt%, based on water. The detergent usually has a pH of 6.5-8.5.
