In order to prevent straws (20) from escaping from the receptacle (1) of a canister which is rapidly immersed in a cold liquid, the canister comprises a lid (5) supported on the rod (3) of the canister so as to be able to be moved between a first position, called the closed position, opposite the upper opening of the receptacle (1), in which the lid prevents the straws from leaving the receptacle (1), and a second position which exposes the opening. Application to the preservation of biological products in a cryogenic liquid container.
