A needle park (24) for a package (10) that holds one or more surgical needles (2) and sutures has a generally planar base (18). A cantilevered arm (26), fixed at one end and free at its other end, extends above and parallel to the base (18). A needle (2) is introduced between the free end of the arm and the base (18) and held between the arm and base. A nib (32) that extends from the free end of the arm (26) toward the base (18) secures the needle. The needle park (24) may be molded as part of a one-piece needle and suture package and is well adapted for automatic loading. <IMAGE> |
